Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word which means ‘Life Knowledge’.  It originated in India thousands of years ago and is a holistic system of medicine.  Ayurvedic practitioners believe that people are a combination of 3 Doshas – Vata, Pitta and Kapha.  Each Dosha has particular qualities and people can be a combination of these with life changes such as pregnancy, ageing and adolescence, sometimes altering the balance within a person.

 

Ayurvedic Facial Therapy is designed to be a gentle non-invasive approach to looking younger.  Through gentle massage of Marma points (target points) on the face and head, tension is released, the layers of muscle and connective tissue are freed so that there is space for the muscles to relax, and, micro-circulation is encouraged so the tissues can glide smoothly over the deeper layers of the muscle and bone.

*I would recommend arriving with minimal make-up, although I will gently remove any residue make-up before the treatment commences with an allergy-free facial wipe.  If you would like to use your own facial cleanser, and would like to re-apply your make-up after treatment, please feel free to do so*
